My wife and I decided to have her mother come live with us so we decided to convert our garage to a suite. We shopped around and found some good candidates. However, we decided to give Dan of Renov8t a shot. Boy oh boy so far the experiences have been beyond excellent. This seemed to be the perfect time to address our issue with our own bathroom and pipes. It just so happened that it was in dire need of some serious attention. Pipes were on the verge of leaking. As the "other half" of the couple who hired Renov8t, I wanted to add my perspective to that of my husband. I was impressed by the time the contractor took to explain to me the implications of various options; I am not "architecturally savvy" and I appreciated the careful explanations that Dan, as a professional, delivered to us. In December, we had a minor emergency with our hot water system. We called Dan at Renov8T and told him the problem. We received very prompt service from him. He came to work in my mechanical room and he was always very respectful of our home — shoes off each time he had to go through the house, etc. He came prepared for the job and he worked quickly and efficiently. I want to personally say that Dan King and his team have been a pleasure to work with. I wished I could have met Dan six years ago. I did a kitchen and one bathroom (on the lower level) renovation with a different contractor, and boy, was it ever the ultimate nightmare for the homeowner. Not only were they extremely messy (they left an inch of dirt EVERYWHERE in my home), but I had to redo much of their work. Needless to say, I was gun shy about starting renos again. Thank you to Dan and your team for a great solution to our leaking pipes! Dan found an elegant solution to our leaking pipe... which was buried into our foundation. Solution was to route the pipes above ground and up to the ceiling, around the eating area and behind the kitchen counters — from one end of the house to the other end! We originally hired Renov8t.com to repair a broken faucet in our shower which then turned into renovating our entire ensuite when we decided it was time to get the walk in shower we had always wanted. We hired Renov8t to install a furnace in an older home with an odd configuration for a typical furnace. Dan researched various options and found us one that would be reasonable given the relatively small square footage of our home. During initial installation modifications were required to make it work and it seemed to work well initially but then a few months later problems developed. Dan was usually very quick to respond and resolve things. Unfortunately about a year later, the same issues were raised but this time solutions seemed more challenging. Dan then consulted the furnace company again and with more discussions a final solution was determined. Dan completed the company's suggestions and now we have a warm home again. Dan was caught in a difficult place between working with an older home's situation and a furnace that had its own issues as for configuration. I just wanted to write that I have used Renov8t twice in the past. The first time was in 2012 when the crew came to my town home and renovated our laundry room. They were very professional and upfront about their ideas and cost. The crew arrived on time, worked long hours and cleaned up (very important to us) before leaving. Dan King has done a number of jobs at my home including sourcing and installing a Miele dishwasher and a new hot water tank, installing the washer and dryer and servicing my forced-air gas furnace. In regards to the hot water tank, the old one burst and in an emergency situation, Dan came to the house and did all the necessary work to secure the pipes, stop the leaking, removed the old tank and installed a new one. All the work has been done in a professional and timely manner and I have no hesitation in recommending Dan for your home needs. He has multiple certifications including as a gas fitter so there are virtually no situations that he cannot manage.

I first hired this company in September 2000. They turned my lower floor into a lovely 2 bedroom suite. It was rented in mid December and has been rented continuously ever since. In April 2011, I hired them again to upgrade the suite. They also did renovations on my upper floor — gutted the kitchen and two bathrooms. Everything was updated and still looks wonderful. Later they redid the exterior, replaced the sundeck, painted, and redid anything that needed attention. Over the years I have used them whenever I required something to be done.
